JP, journalist, and newspaper columnist, Pat lists her interests as education, health and welfare. An executive member of National Council of Women, she is married to Presbyterian minister the Rev Ivan Smith and lives with him at Tinkertown, Nightcaps.

Malcolm is a teacher at Central Southland College in Winton, Central Southland. Married to Sue, with five children, he has been a member of the Board of Southern REAP Inc. for the past 10 years.

Glenys is from a farming background and her base is Gore, in Eastern Southland. Her interests include education, conservation, gardening, tramping, and politics.
