Course Description

“Kawakawa is a healing plant, being used for many purposes such as healing cuts and wounds, treating insect bites, reducing pain, swelling and stillness in joints, muscles and bruises.” You will to learn how to make Kawakawa balm, its healing properties and how it can be used in a variety of applications. Also learn the art of Poi making and make one set to take home. This course covers: Whakawhanaungatanga (building relationships with whanau), karakia (prayer), Rongoa Maori (Maori medicine), waiata (song) kotahitangi (unity / working together) and Tikanga Maori. Date: Saturday 29 March Time: 10am - 3pm Cost: $30 per person (all materials included) Venue: Hokonui Runanga, 140 Charlton Road, Gore Please bring along some shared kai for lunch.
